Girls Pary!

We had the best time at the girls party this past Saturday! I really enjoyed seeing a lot of the women and girls that are in my family. They all live along the Coast. So I don't get to see them too often. Everyone got to meet Gracie and hold her. She got a lot of loving! We ate at this excellent Italian restaurant that is in Ocean Springs, MS. That day the weather was beautiful and so they set up our table outside on the patio. We had a great time chatting, eating, opening gifts, and having cake. I really enjoyed watching the girls in their cute dresses. They had fun running around and playing in the water fountain!

Say Cheese!

Gracie smiled at me for the first time yesterday (age 7 weeks)! It was so sweet! She actually smiled at me two times. She gave me the biggest grin. We were at home, and I can't remember what we were doing. But I do recall she was staring at me for awhile and moving her mouth kind of like she was trying to smile. Then she did it, and I was elated!

Wow life is BUSY right now! Sometimes it's like my days just zip by because I stay so busy! One of the benefits of breastfeeding is that you have to stop and make lots of time just for feeding the baby. Gracie eats every three hours during the day which is hard but we seem to make it work. Mostly the success has been due to the amount of help I have gotten from Greg. He has really been doing a lot especially at nights like cooking dinner, doing the dishes, bathing the kids and putting them to bed. Gracie eats more often in the evening so I am with her the majority of the night.

I dressed Gracie up for the first time this past Sunday for church. I bought her dress at Gymboree and just love it! She decided to pee on it, though, when I was changing her diaper at church. Maybe she's trying to tell me something. Lord knows she's bound to be a tomboy!

I have to give her pacifier to her to get her to take a picture since she does not seem to like cameras!

I wanted to start a blog just for my sweet Gracie to write about everything new that she's doing and to share all her pictures! I will still blog about the boys on our family website: www.gregandtracey.us

I am pretty head over heels for this precious girl. She is such a gift from God! She is now 6 1/2 weeks old, and she's doing really well. Here's are some facts about Gracie as of now:

• The past two nights she's slept from about 11:00-5:00ish. That's about six hours straight that I've been able to get! Once she's asleep, she's out! She can be a very sound sleeper!
  
• She's become much more alert and stays awake for longer periods. But she still does sleep a lot! She's smiled at her daddy two times, but not for me yet! I try and get her to smile, but she just won't do it. She must be a daddy's girl already!
• She loves being held, and falls asleep with me carrying her around while I cook, clean, and take care of the boys.
• She's got big blue eyes, and it's the first thing you notice when you look at her.
• She's also got a fat and round little tummy!
• So far Isaac seems to be the most interested in her. He loves hugging her and rubbing her head (not always gently though). He always wants to make sure that she's okay when she cries.
• We've tried out the Bumbo, and she really likes it. She stays in it much longer without crying than her bouncy seat. Her pink playmat is not a favorite toy yet.
• Little girl has some noisy gas! She let it rip at church yesterday, and it was so loud that people around us were turning around! I was pretty embarrassed!
• She absolutely does not like it when we take her picture. She always gets so fussy. It seems as if she knows when we say "camera" or "picture."
